How to get there : Take your Tom Tom with you as these are expensive to hire from the airport.  Excellent motorways and dual carriageways take you quickly and easily to Condado de Alhama in less than an hour.

 

Condado de Alhama is a Jack Nicklaus designed golf resort, built in 2009.  Great care has been taken to make the resort attractive within its countryside location.  Palm trees escort you all round the resort.  The gardens are regularly attended and the beautiful bright colours of bougainvillea are in abundance.  Off season the resort is very quiet and peaceful.  The waters of La Isla are frequented by many birds including swifts and swallows.

 

Costa Calida, named for its warm weather has more than 300 days of sunshine a year.  I chose this region of Murcia for its vast array of activities and close proximity to the sea and mountains.  The beautiful blue flag beaches of Bolnuevo and Mazarron are less than 20 minutes away and unlike British beaches parking is easy and mostly free. 

 

The historic cities of Cartegena and Murcia are well worth a visit.  A train from nearby Alhama de Murcia goes into Murcia city.
